LAFAYETTE - Annie Lou Guillot passed away peacefully on Saturday May 11, 2014 in Lafayette General Medical Center. She was 85 years of age. Annie was a teacher by Profession and at heart; she wanted to continue teaching after she was gone. She willed her body to the LSU Bureau of Anatomical Services.

Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore Guillot and Agnes Guillot, a half sister Rosie G. Baudoin her husband Joseph; her Aunt Leondra Guillot.

She is survived by her sister Rose Amiee Trahan and her husband Raymond; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a native of Youngsville but resident of Lafayette for 67 years. Miss Guillot was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend to everyone who knew her and will be dearly missed.

Annie was born November 19, 1928 in Youngsville, LA. At the age of 18 she became a Sister of Mount Carmel and began her teaching career of 49 years, retiring from Cathedral Carmel School in 1995. Annie loved the Brothers she donated time at their residence and felt at home. She fell sick and was placed at Amelia Manor Nursing Home until time of death.

Reverend Edward Degeyter will be Principal Celebrant at memorial service Mass to be held on Friday June 20, 2014 at 10 am in the De La Salle Chapel at the Brothers retirement Community in Lafayette.

Donations may be made in her honor to De La Salle Christian Brothers, 1522 Carmel Drive, Lafayette, LA 70501 and/ or Cathedral Carmel School, 848 St. John Street, Lafayette, LA 70501.

The family would like to thank the staff at Amelia Manor and Lafayette General ICU unit for the excellent care they provided. The two people that deserve the most gratitude is Rachelle and Tony Trahan for their timeless devotion they gave to Annie through her whole stay at the home and at the time of her passing!
