Jimmy "Jim" Harold Crain

LAFAYETTE - A Funeral Ceremony will be celebrated Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette for Jimmy "Jim" Harold Crain, 80, who passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at his residence in Lafayette.

Visitation will be observed on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and will resume Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 11:00 am until the time of services at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette.

Interment will follow in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette.

Senior Pastor Richard Humphries of Asbury United Methodist Church in Lafayette will officiate.

Jim was born Wednesday, April 25, 1934 in Weatherford, TX and was a resident of Acadiana. A proud veteran, Jim served in the Army with the 82nd Airborne Division. He is a graduate of North Carolina State University where he was a member of the Wolfpack football and track teams. He worked as a Sales Representative in the Cement Industry. Jim was a parishioner of Asbury United Methodist Church in Lafayette.

As an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed playing golf, hunting and fishing. Jim loved spending time with his family and friends, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and he really loved his dog, Buster.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Beverly Crain of Lafayette, LA; two daughters, Laura Kleinpeter and her husband, Greg of Baton Rouge, LA and Cindy Felio of League City, TX; his son, Jimmy Crain and his wife, Michelle of Lafayette, LA; his sister, Patsy Norton and husband, Frank of CA; seven grandchildren, Courtney Kleinpeter Groves and husband, Matt, Ashley Kleinpeter Misko and husband, Daniel, Shannon Kleinpeter, Paul Felio, Emily Felio, Gabrielle Crain and Alessandra Todaro; and four great-grandchildren, Caroline Groves, William Groves, Samantha Groves and Frances Misko.

Pall bearers are Jimmy Crain, Greg Kleinpeter, Paul Felio, Bill Rogers, Carl Gumpert and Bobby Greene.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Jackson Crain and Lillian Mable Warren.
