LAFAYETTE - On Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 12:00 noon, relatives and friends are invited to attend a Christian Mass at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 300 West Alexander St., Lafayette, LA for Herbert J. Rubin, 75, who passed into eternal rest on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Officiating will be Rev. Msgr. Robie Robichaux, JCL.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Herbert was born, raised and educated in Lafayette, LA and later married and resided in New Orleans, LA over 45 years. As a resident of New Orleans, LA he was a parishioner of St. David's Catholic Church, the Professional Barbers' Association and a member of E. J. Morris Senior Center.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Clementine Cockerham Rubin; one son, Keith M. Rubin, Sr.; three grandchildren, Keith M. Rubin, Jr., Kierra Rubin, Keisha Brown and one great grandson, Antoine Marrero; sisters, Joyce (Braxton) Floyd, Maryann (Larry) Francis; three brothers, Joseph "Parley" (Joyce), Francis "Junius" (Dorothy), Charley J. Rubin and sisters-in-law, Velma C. Melancon, Dorothy "Dot" T. Rubin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Evelia Chaisson Rubin; one sister, Dorothy "Cayet" Alex; three brothers, Walter, Wallace and Larry Rubin; one sister-in-law, Dorothy "May" Rubin and various loving members of his acquired family in New Orleans, LA.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Syrie Funeral Home from 7:00 a.m. until time of service.
