On August 25, 1939 Gerry was born in Nina, Louisiana to Simon Dauphine and the former Alice Guidry. She was a graduate of Cecilia High School.
She leaves behind to cherish wonderful memories, her loving husband of 57 years, Eldrick "Tee" Tauzin; her four children, Shelia T. Landry and husband, Donnie Landry, Clyde Tauzin, Staci Tauzin and Benny Soulier, and Tammi T. Robicheaux; two grandsons, Brennan Landry and wife, Camille and Ivy-Paul Robicheaux; and two great grandchildren, Charlie Paul and Cecily Claire Landry, all from Lafayette; two sisters, Helen Nell Rabeaux and husband, Chester Rabeaux of Nina, and Jean Landry and husband, Wade Landry of Breaux Bridge; and two brothers, Don Dauphine and wife, Jacqueline of Nina and Tommy Dauphine and wife, Renee, also of Nina.
She was known as "Nanny" to numerous nieces and nephews and affectionately known as "Gran" to the two lights of her life, Brennan and Ivy. She loved working in her yard and she also loved to dance. She really enjoyed Cajun music and Mardi Gras was one of her favorite times of year. Every Mardi Gras was when she fried chicken, and ALL who ever tasted it, looked forward to Gerry's fried chicken on Fat Tuesday! She was a real firecracker and always the life of the party. She was an excellent cook who loved cooking large meals for her family. Through the years, she was not one to miss attending her children's or grandchildren's sporting events. She truly enjoyed taking care of others, especially her loving husband, children, and grandchildren. She was very devoted to her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
