David was always actively involved in his community, especially in the local arts and in Festival Internationale. He loved his profession as an architect and left his mark on Acadiana in many buildings large and small, historic and new-the Cade Community Center, St. Martin de Tours renovation, Coteau Elementary addition, St. Thomas More High School, Our Lady of Prompt Succor addition, St. Martinville Senior High School Gym, the event center at Evangeline Downs and the restoration of St. John Berchmans Church in Cankton, among many.
David was an avid outdoorsman and had a true love of nature whether he was working in his garden, fishing, bird watching on the porch and at the camp, driving through the country, pirouging through the marsh or tending his big yard. His granddaughter, Sophie, was the light of his life, and he awaited Jack with great joy.
Those who knew him will remember him as a man who valued justice, equality and kindness, and he will be missed forever.
And he didn't care for domestic beer.
