LAFAYETTE - Memorial services will be held Monday, July 21, 2014 at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church for Davis "Dave" Thibodeaux, age 61, who passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 12:02 a.m. at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Grand Coteau.
Mr. Thibodeaux was a native and resident of Grand Coteau, having spent most of his life in Lafayette. He was a graduate of Sunset High School Class of 1970 and then completed the machinist program at T.H. Harris Vocational School. Mr. Thibodeaux was employed as a mechanic and worked in sales at Honda of Lafayette for 30 years. He was an avid fisherman and always enjoyed working with his hands.
Survivors include two sons, Jacob "Jake" Thibodeaux and Dustin Thibodeaux, both of Lafayette; his loving mother, the former Mildred Dugas of Grand Coteau; eight sisters, Dena Briley of Opelousas, Merv Cron and her husband, Phil, of Morse, Susan Fontenot and her husband, Randy, of Sunset, Vicky Dohmann of Carencro, Trudy Simon of Youngsville, Tama Collier and her husband, Richard, of Baton Rouge, Gayle Olivar of California and Sheila Thibodeaux and her husband, Richard Inmann, of North Carolina; three brothers, John Kenneth Thibodeaux of Grand Coteau, Erroll Thibodeaux of Port Barre and Ricky Thibodeaux and his wife, Ellen, of Winston, GA; and twenty four nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Berchman Thibodeaux.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church (174 Church St. Grand Coteau, LA 70541) at 12:00 p.m. Monday until service time on Monday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
