LAFAYETTE - Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 11:00 AM in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette for Betty K. Villarreal, age 81, who died on Wednesday, July 23, 2014.

Reverend Ann Sutton, Pastor of Northwood United Methodist Church in Lafayette will conduct the Memorial Service. Jodi Bollich, organist, will sing for the services.

Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, Edward Lee Villarreal of Lafayette; one son, Drew Villarreal and his wife, Dene' Villarreal of Lafayette; one daughter Melissa V. Kenney and her husband, Michael Kenney of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Alexandra Schreiber and husband Bo Schreiber, Andrew Villarreal, Ross Kenney, and Kelsey Kenney; and one great granddaughter, Jenna Grace Schreiber.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Robert Kennedy and Addie Roberts Kennedy; and her step mother, Leona Ligon Kennedy.

Mrs. Villarreal was born in Elm Park, Louisiana on April 19, 1933, was raised in Slaughter, Louisiana and was a longtime resident of Lafayette, Louisiana. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She provided well for her family, although she did not like cooking, she enjoyed fine dining. Mrs. Villarreal was the world's biggest shopper and loved shopping for antiques. She was truly a great homemaker and decorator. Mrs. Villarreal loved the beach and shore birds, "Committee Birds" as she called them, reminded her of a Forest Oil meeting. She loved and enjoyed dancing to her favorite Jitterbug and Jazz Music. Mrs. Villarreal will be sincerely missed by her family and friends.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service.
