LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott for Rita Elaine D. Trahan, 87, who died on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Scott.

Reverend Andre Metrejean, Associate Pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lector will be Brandon Beasley. Giftbearers will be Claire Smith and Kelley Trahan. Musical selections will be, "Amazing Grace," "How Great Thou Art," "Isaiah 49," and "One Bread, One Body."

She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Bonnie Elaine Trahan Beasley and her husband, Richard, of Scott; two sons, Warren Lee Trahan and his wife, Cindy, of Dickinson, TX and Larry James Trahan, of Scott; six grandchildren, Beau Raymond Trahan and his wife, Lauren, Blaise Corey Trahan and his wife, Kelley, Brody Lee Trahan, Margaret Elaine Beasley Timmer and her husband, Lance, Brandon Christopher Beasley and his wife, Kelly, and Claire Elizabeth Beasley Smith and her husband, Buck; and eleven great grandchildren, Abigail Claire Trahan, Anne Lauren Trahan, Adalyn Marie Trahan, Harley Elaine Snelling, Ozzy Jace Snelling, Stevey Lynn Snelling, Jolie Grace Timmer, Jayden Timmer, Buck Smith, Cheyenne Smith and Madden Michael Beasley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton J. Trahan; one son, Raymond Milton Trahan; and her parents, Warren and Mathilda Darce Durio.

Rita Elaine Durio Trahan was born on November 19, 1926 in Lafayette, Louisiana and was a resident of Scott for most of her life. She was a member of the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church Community and was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Mrs. Trahan enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Pallbearers will be Beau Trahan, Blaise Trahan, Brody Trahan, Warren Trahan, Brandon Beasley and Ozzy Snelling.

A Rosary will be recited by the Catholic Daughters on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Location.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of services.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Amelia Manor Nursing Home as well as Dr. Gaspard and his staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center for their kindness, compassion and gentle care given to Mrs. Trahan and her family during their time of need.
