BROUSSARD - Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard for Theresa D. Bernard, age 86, who died at 5:30 AM on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Broussard.
Reverend Paul Bienvenu, Pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brousard will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Michele Bernard and Bradley Bernard. Giftbearers will be Louis and Ruby Delahoussaye. Jodi Bollich, organist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace", "My Shepherd Is The Lord", "Ave Maria", "Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace"and "On Eagle's Wings".
Survivors include two daughters, Diane Schlumbrecht and her husband Melvin and Betty Dugas and her husband Larry; one son, Anthony Bernard and his wife Michele; four grandchildren, Brenden Dugas and his wife Sara, Jordan Dugas and his wife, Angie, Bradley Bernard and Benjamin Bernard; two great grandchildren, Breanna Dugas and Addison Dugas; two sisters, Marie Romero and her husband Menson and Helen Broussard and her husband Dalton; one brother, Louis Delahoussaye and his wife Ruby.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maxie Bernard; her parents, Nicholas Delahoussaye and the former Effie Vincent; one sister, Irene Nolan and two brothers, Nicholas Delahoussaye Jr. and Dale Delahoussaye.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Bernard, Larry Dugas, Brenden Dugas, Jordan Dugas, Bradley Bernard and Benjamin Bernard.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 W. Main Street in Broussard, Louisiana on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 1:00 PM until time of service.
