Dr. Entes was raised in and was a long-time resident of NY, NY and relocated to Lafayette, LA in 1993. He embraced the Acadiana region, culture and cuisine. Dr. Entes was a member of the American Medical Association of Louisiana State Medical Society and the Lafayette Parish Medical Association, and was a fellow both in the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association. Dr. Entes was an avid supporter of the Arts in the Acadiana area as well as charities, organizations and causes.
He will be remembered and deeply missed. He was a loving and great man, husband, father, physician, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, boss and mentor.

I knew Kenny growing up in Long Island City, Queens (not Brooklyn, although his mom later moved to Brooklyn), and we attended school together for about 12 years, at PS 83, PS 76, JHS 204, the Bronx High School of Science, and SUNY Binghamton for a year or two. I lived two floors above the Entes in North Queensview Homes (Queensview West) and knew the family well growing up. His father, Dave, was an amazing guy who was a physical fitness and handball afficionado. Dave used to take Cliffie, Kenny, and me to the McBurney Y on 23rd Street in Manhattan, where we would work out with weights and go to the steam room, maybe around 1965. Afterward, Dave would take us to the Horn and Hardart automat, which was near the Y on 23rd, and we would have dinner. Kenny and I were great friends, and I was dismayed to learn of his premature death even though we had not seen each other in many decades. The last time I saw him may have been around the time his dad died, also prematurely, in the 1970s. I recall going with him to a Mets game around then at which Hank Aaron hit a home run. Kenny was a great, warm, giving guy, and I'm not surprised that he was a fine physician.

OH MY GOODNESS! I know this entry comes after a long while, but it was not until today that we learned of Dr. Entes' passing into glory. My prayers and heartfelt love go out even in this late entry to his entire family. He was such an extraordinary man. He cared for my dad Ambroise Suire and then for my son Eric Higginbotham! My heart is saddened but my spirit rejoices!
