Funeral services will be held for Mary Celesia Faulk Etienne on Saturday September 11th 2010 at St Paul's Catholic Church at 11:00 am. She left the earth to walk with Jesus in Heaven after a lengthy illness, she passed away on September 5th, 2010. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette, LA, Fr Robert Seay will officiate the services.

Known through out her life as "Ms. Chubby" or "Aunt Chubby" she was a resident of Lafayette, LA. Mary attended Paul Breaux High School, she was later employed by the Lafayette Parish School Board for over 30 years before retiring. Mary was married to her loving husband Mr. Melton Etienne for 26 years before his passing in 2007. Mary was a great wife, stepmother, aunt and sister to the family. She loved to play Pokeno and Pitty-Pat. Aunt Chubby was very sturn person and an awesome cook. She also was a member of the Blind Association. Mary loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest, she was awarded the Distinguished Citizen award by the mayor.
She leaves to mourn one sister Ms Celestine Faulk Hudson who is the only living sibling in her family; grandson Lamarr Etienne, step grandson and children of the Etienne family, along with a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Mr. Melton Etienne, her father Mr. Oscar Faulk, mother Mrs. Mary Despanie Faulk; three brothers John, Oscar Jr, and Paul Faulk; two sisters Menci Lee and Rose Faulk, two nieces Dianne Hudson and Paula Faulk; three nephews John, Graylin and Aaron Faulk; one great nephew Ernest Hudson and a host of cousins, friends, nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to her niece, caregiver and Friend Wilda Hudson who took care of her throughout her lengthy sickness and was also there for her giving unconditional love and care until her time of passing. Thanks to Amelia Manor Nursing Home and staff for their continuous care until the time of her passing. Also Hospice of Acadiana, Dr. Mike Mire, Dr. Young and all the doctors who aided in her care.
