Margaret Livaudais Obituary
Funeral Services will be held at a 1:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, October 8, 2010 at Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist for Margaret Livaudais, 93, who passed away on October 6, 2010 at 1:53 am at her residence.
Reverend Msgr. Harry Benefiel, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Fountain Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Livaudais, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Stanley A Stewart of Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana and the former Cora Stone of Bad Axe, Michigan. Mrs. Livaudais graduated from Baptist Hospital as a Registered Nurse in 1938. After raising her family, she returned to work as a nurse in surgery at Lafayette General Medical Center until her retirement in 1983.
She is survived by three daughters, Judith Ann L. Pittman and her husband Benton of Spencer, Indiana, Juanita "Wandy" L. Brown and her husband Tom of Houston, Texas, and Anita "Neetzie" L. David and her husband Dewitt "Zeen" of Lafayette; one son, Kenneth F. "Joey" Livaudais, Jr. and his wife Cindy of Lafayette; eight grandchildren, Addie Gill, BJ Pittman, John Pittman, Monique Powell, Ken David, Jenny David, Sara Castille, and Taylor Brown; eleven great grandchildren and one sister, Cora Lee Sanders of Covington, LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years Kenneth F. Livaudais, Sr.; one daughter, Margaret Kay Livaudais; one grandson, Byron Kenneth Livaudais; two sisters, Elise Roberts, and Betty Didier; one brother, Stanley A. Stewart, Jr.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and will continue on Friday from 10:00 am until service time.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mrs. Livaudais's caregivers, Janie Venable, Judy Boudreaux, Debbie LeRoy, and Heart of Hospice.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Miles Perret Cancer Center, 2130 Kaliste Saloom Road, Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70508.
Pallbearers will be Richard A. David, Dewitt David, Ken David, Brian Castille, Joey Livaudais and Tom Brown.
