EDWARD JAMES DAUTERIVE

LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held at an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Edward James Dauterive, 79, who passed away on July 9, 2011 at 5:30 am at his residence.

Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral services.

Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. Dauterive, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the son of the late Milton Dauterive of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and the former Hilda Broussard of Lafayette, Louisiana. Mr. Dauterive was a native of Breaux Bridge, LA and a resident of Lafayette for most of his life. He enjoyed a long and successful career in the oil and gas industry and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Lafayette Association of Petroleum Landmen, and was inducted into the Old Timers Hall of Fame in connection with his oil and gas career. He was a friend to all with a very kind heart.

He is survived by His loving wife of 56 years Barbara DeJean Dauterive; two children, daughter Pamela Dauterive Gibaut of Houston, TX and son, Randal Dauterive and wife Paula Boudreaux Dauterive of Lafayette; one sister, Lola Dauterive McFaul of Breaux Bridge; four grandchildren, Jessica Anne Dauterive, Ian Philip Gibaut, Molly Marie Dauterive and Claire Elizabeth Gibaut.

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Lisa Gay Dauterive; parents, Milton and Hilda Broussard Dauterive; sisters, Lucille Dauterive Campbell and Shirley Dauterive Angelle.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Tuesday from 9:00 am until time of services. A reception will follow graveside burial at Delhomme Reception Hall.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to his care givers Mary Williams and Candice Petlodin and Richard Williams.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Ste. 200, Lafayette, LA, 70503 or the Carmelite Monastery, 1250 Carmel Drive, Lafayette, Louisiana 70501.
