LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Lawrence Daigle.

Interment will be in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery.

Lawrence Daigle was born on May 4, 1934 to Stephen Daigle and Marcella (Hamilton) Daigle. He was one of 11 children. He succumbed to illness and departed this world on November 12, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, two brothers and three sisters.

He leaves to cherish his memory, Claradell Johnson Daigle, his wife of over 50 years; two sons, Earl Cedric (Feleshia) and Anthony Paul (Lisa Marie); two daughters, Marshun Ann (Dwight) and Stephanie Ann (Kelvin); two brothers, Paul F. and John H. and three sisters, Anna Mae Zeno, Agnes Labbe and Rose Noel; 8 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren. He also leaves a host of family and friends.

Lawrence was a Korean War veteran and retired as a supervisor from the U. S. Postal Service with a combined 30 years of federal service.

Lawrence was a deliberate man of few words but, to those closest to him, he was known as a man of unique intellect and a very interesting conversationalist. He was good with his hands and always an available handyman for family and friends.

Above all, Lawrence was known as a strong family man and a good provider with an excellent work ethic. He enjoyed playing dominoes, fishing, sports and his barbeque was a thing of beauty.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Syrie Funeral Home from 7:00 a.m. until time of service.
