LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held in the Sunrise Chapel at Walters Funeral Home (2424 North University Avenue, Lafayette, LA) at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 13, 2012 for Marilyn Lee Miller Webb, our beloved Mother, who passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Lafayette General Medical Center surrounded by her family. Pastor Jacob Aranza, of Our Savior's Church, will officiate the ceremony. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery on Carmel Avenue.
She is survived by her daughters Sharonne "Shonie" Bernard, Linda Savoy and her husband Rick, Margaret "Wezie" LeBlanc and her husband Paul, Helen "Tiffa" Boutte and her husband Kerry (New Orleans), her sons Arthur "Tim" Webb (Houston), and Robert Webb and his wife Kathy (Denham Springs). She is also survived by her only sibling Patricia "Patty" Falk, who resides in San Diego, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents Margaret Lee Miller and Roy Smith Miller, her husband Arthur Webb, Jr., a son Paul "Terry" Webb, a son Michael James Webb, and a grandson Christopher Webb.
Marilyn was a beautiful woman devoted to her family of 8 children, 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild. After raising her children, Marilyn worked as an After Care Coordinator for Cypress Hospital for many years before retiring at the age of 75.
One of her greatest accomplishments was maintaining her sobriety for 31 years. She held dear all of her friends from AA. She was also a lifelong member of the American Legion Post 69 Auxiliary. Her free spirited passions were New Orleans Saints football and watching NASCAR Racing.
Pallbearers will be her son Robert Webb, and her grandsons, Bobby Bernard, Mickey Bernard, Tony Bernard, Kevin Galloway, Danny Dugas, Mike Webb, and Jason LeBlanc. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua and Jordan Hagen, and her sons-in-law, Kerry Boutte, Rick Savoy, and Paul LeBlanc.
The family requests that visitation be held on Thursday, July 12th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and on Friday, July 13th from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
Our family is deeply grateful and very blessed for the compassionate, loving care given to our Mother by her companion caregiver, Laura Chargois. We would also like to thank the staff and nurses at Magnolia Estates Nursing Home for their early care of our mother. The family also wishes to express our deepest gratitude to Dr. Fernando Alemany and the entire staff and third floor nurses at Lafayette General Medical Center. Their care and compassion were beyond measure and will be treasured by our family.
