Dauna LaBauve Hebert

NEW IBERIA - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St.Peter's Catholic Church in New Iberia on at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 26, 2012 for Dauna LaBauve Hebert who passed away on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 1:13 PM at her home in Youngsville, surrounded by her loving family, after a lengthy illness.

Reverend Charles Langlois will be the Celebrant.

Interment will in Holy Family Cemetery, 2807 Curtis Lane in New Iberia, LA off Hwy. 14.

A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Thursday. Visitation will continue Friday from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM.

Dauna is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Louis "Buzzy" Hebert, one son Louis W. Hebert, IV and two stepchildren, Jennifer Hebert, MD and Benjamin Hebert. She is also survived by her only brother, Dwight LaBauve and his wife Vicki, her nephews, Luke LaBauve and his wife Stephanie and their children Hunter, Brylie and Brax; and Hayden LaBauve and his wife Zana and their children Xander and Jagger Rudy. She was loved by all the nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Rudolph "Rudy" LaBauve and Beulah "Bea" Jenny LaBauve.

Dauna will be sadly missed for her wonderful zest of life. She definitely was larger than life in everything she did. She was a supportive wife and mother, a truly loving sister and aunt, and an unbelievable daughter, who took care of her parents during their long illnesses. Her love of sports, especially football, brought her much happiness. Attending LSU football games gave her much joy. Her love of gardening was evident by her beautiful flowers and plants. Her love of travel was her way of instilling the spirit of adventure in her family. She loved family who was most important to her. Perhaps her greatest joy was teaching Kindergarten for 25 years. Her school children were all special to Dauna. Her dedication to her profession will be remembered for years to come.

Pallbearers are Dwight LaBauve, Luke LaBauve, Hayden Labauve, Galen LaBauve, Louis Hebert and Bob Jenny. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Jenny and Luke Lucas.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Acadiana Foundation, 2600 Johnston Street, Lafayette, LA 70503.

The family would like to thank all the staff of Hospice of Acadiana for all the moral and spiritual support they gave as well all the friends and coworkers who were so thoughtful during her illness. Special thanks go to Dr. Jose' Mata, Dr. Paul Zhender, Dr. Morris Hoffpauir, Judith Crowder, Donnie Tornbloom, Jenee Segura, Donna Sams, Vanessa Martin, Deacon Jim Davis and Fr.Mike Champagne for their loving care. Her caregivers, Carmelita Olivier and Lovenia Lee, provided special care which was invaluable.
