LAFAYETTE - Funeral Services will be held at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, February 18, 2013 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Cornell Charles Bodensteiner, 75, who passed away on February 14, 2013 at 4:15 am at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Reverend Ed Degeyter will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park.
Mr. Bodensteiner, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the son of the late Gregory Theodore Bodensteiner and the former Agnes Margaret Balk. He was a United States Navy Veteran who retired as an RMC after 20 years of service. His primary specialty in the military was in communications with a secondary specialty as an instructor.
He is survived by two sisters, Clarinda Lynne Thuente and husband Ludger of Sterling, IL and Arlene Stendel of Castalia, IA; six brothers, Virgil Bodensteiner and wife Constance of Lowry Crossing, TX, Gerald Bodensteiner and wife Diana of Cedar Rapids, IA, Dale Bodensteiner and wife Donna Moen of Ossian, IA, Robert Bodensteiner and wife Virginia of Elkader, IA, Lyle Bodensteiner and wife Nancy of Waukon, IA and Keith Bodensteiner and wife Chris of Ossian, IA; his sister in law, Winkie Truesdell and husband Doug of Breaux Bridge, LA; two brothers in law, Donald M. Arceneaux and wife Sadie of Breaux Bridge, LA and Ronald P. Arceneaux and wife Mona of Rayne, LA; 30 nieces and nephews; 44 great nieces and nephews and 5 great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, June Bodensteiner; one brother Leo Bordensteiner; brother in law, Earl Stendel.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm. A Rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Sunday evening at 6:00 pm. Visiting hours will continue from 8:00 am until the time of services.
Pallbearers will be Dale Bodensteiner, Lyle Bodensteiner, Brian Bodensteiner, Doug Buddenberg, Ronald P. Arceneaux and Donald M. Arceneaux.
