A lifelong resident of Maringouin, he died at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at his home. He was 75. Visiting at A. Wesley Funeral Home, 10810 Ventress Drive, Maringouin, on Friday, March 29, 2013 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Service at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church, 8900 Gravious Lane, Maringouin, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013. Interment in the church cemetery. Survivors include 9 children, Willie, Sherry, Elaine, Darlene, Renee, Wendy, Rodney, Stacey and Carter Smith, Jr.; 4 sisters, Lucy, Katie, Mattie and Betty; 4 brothers, Truman, Thomas, Charles and Charlie Smith; sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, 25 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; Man's Best Friend, his puppy Tina Marie Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
