As a chemist at Ethyl, he held numerous patents and had multiple publications. He was involved in the early research and development of the drug, ibuprofen. A voracious reader and a fast walker, he could often be found walking around the LSU lakes. He was a caring and compassionate husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Colleen Dagani. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carol Dagani, a daughter, Michele Lobitz, and a grand-daughter, Valeria Colleen Lobitz.
