Alice Hebert Babin, the beloved wife of the late Blaise J. Babin, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at Plaquemine Caring. She was 94. Her loving and kind spirit will be dearly missed by all of her family. A retired employee of the Lafourche Parish School Board, she was a former resident of Thibodaux and a native of White Castle. Preceded in death by her husband, Blaise J. Babin; parents, Louis and Anna Hebert; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alvin and Beatrice Hebert and Alfred and Ruth Hebert; brothers-in-law, Eddie Giroir and Herbert Hernandez, Sr.; and sister-in-law, Bernadine Hebert. She is survived by a brother, Allen Hebert, Sr.; two sisters, Virginia Hebert Giroir and Linda Hebert Hernandez; many nieces and nephews and the Babin family in Thibodaux. Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 3, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, White Castle, from 12:30 p.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Thibodaux.
