Ellis, Gene Autry  
Gene a native and resident of Plaquemine, Louisiana, died on Tuesday, June 30, 2015. He was 66 years old. He was employed by the Iberville Parish School Board as a custodian at White Castle High School where he was affectionately know as "Mr. Gene" and "Paw Paw Gene." He was a graduate of Iberville High School Class of 1969. Visitation at Roscoe Mortuary on Sunday July 5, 2015 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Visitation resumes at Mt. Airy Baptist Church on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. Our beloved Gene, will be greatly missed. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted children; 1 son, Reginald (Loki) Ellis; 3 daughters Eunice (Phillip) Watkins, Quandra (Ashley) Mosby, and Jillian Ellis; 14 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Clyde (Mary) Ellis; 3 sisters, Agnes (Walter) Oliver, Claudette (Clyde) Ellis, and Charlene Butler; former wife, Edna Pugh; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Stella Lego Ellis; 4 brothers, Richard Jr., Charles, Andrew Roy and Wilford; 2 sisters Elfaye and Marion; grandparents Andrew and Agnes Paul Lego and Edward and Wilhermena Washington Ellis.

Estes, Rosemary Inez  
Rosemary Inez Estes, a loving aunt whose quick wit and sense of humor was present amidst the greatest of personal adversity, died on Thursday, July 2. She was 69. Rosemary spent a lifetime making friends and helping anyone who struggled, especially those with intellectual disabilities. She will be dearly missed by her nephews and their spouses, Ryan Estes Johnson and Amy Verrett Johnson, Tanner Alston Johnson and Brooke Fontenot Johnson, Mason Cire Johnson and Managan McKay Johnson, and her niece and her spouse, Rosemary Susanne Johnson Inman and Mark Inman, and each of their growing families. Rosemary was preceded in death by her identical twin sister, Margaret Estes Johnson, and by her parents, Otto Pendleton Estes and Inez Cire Estes. Of her many friends, the family would like to recognize and thank Emily McLean, Margaret Sanders, Carrie Streb, and all of Rosemary's friends at Southside Gardens, for their love and support of Rosemary, as well as, the special care given to Rosemary over the last ten years by H. Alston Johnson, III. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, La. on Monday, July 6, 2015, from 8:30 a.m. until services at 10 a.m. A private burial service will follow in Picayune, Mississippi.

Espinosa, Oscar Augusto  
Oscar Augusto Espinosa, age 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 26, 2015. He was a native of Santa Clara, Cuba, and resident of Baton Rouge. Oscar was recognized and admired for his work and accomplishments in the sugar industry. He received an Honorary Doctorate degree in engineering from the University of Havana. Oscar also contributed to the WWII efforts when he was selected as an engineer to participate in a program helping operate a Seagram Distillery in Louisville, KY, producing alcohol for the war efforts. He loved his family and was a great friend. He was nicknamed by his grandchildren as "Yayo". Oscar is survived by his daughter, Cris Fontenot and husband, Daniel; sons, Oscar G. Espinosa, Esteban Espinosa and wife, Miriam; Ronaldo Espinosa and wife, Melanie; Carlos Espinosa, Sr. and wife, Enelda; grandchildren, Esteban Espinosa, Jr., Charlotte Jordan, Ricardo Espinosa, Olga Perez Flora, Jennifer Espinosa, Andres Espinosa, Carlos Espinosa, Jr., David Perez, Jaclyn Espinosa, Lauren Heffern, and Isabel Espinosa; and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Cristina Espinosa; parents, Oscar Buenaventura and Maria Antonieta De La Torre Espinosa; and one brother, Rolando Espinosa. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home in New Orleans. Entombment to follow in All Saints Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Catholic Charities, www.catholiccharitiesusa.org. Arrangements by Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville.
