Vercher, Gay Tassin  
Gay Tassin Vercher died on May 7, 2015. She was 73 years old. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed the time she spent doing Senior Citizens Olympics and being a member of the Senior Citizens. Gay was a life long resident of Westwego and Marrero. Gay is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Carl Vercher, her daughter Thea Hogan, her two grandchildren - Courtney Ragusa and James Lugenbuhl, two great-grandchildren - Isabella and Dominic Ragusa, and her brother Arnold Tassin. She was daughter of the late Sidney and Yvonne Fabre Tassin, and sister of the late Glynn Tassin. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass dedicated to her at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church at 11:00 AM on May 31, 2015, located at 531 Ave A, Westwego, LA, and a Celebration of Gay's life immediately following the mass starting at 12:15 PM at The Banter Fraternity Hall, located at 447 Columbus Street, Westwego, LA. Vallet Jr., Phillip  
Phillip Vallet Jr., a native of Erwinville, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Williamsburg Senior Living Community. He was 96, an Army veteran, and a former longtime resident of Los Angeles, California where he worked in the shoe repair business. He is survived by one brother, Lester Vallet Sr. (Carol), New Orleans, two sisters, Ruth V. Fabre and Theresa V. Fabre, both of New Roads, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Flora and Philip Vallet, and two sisters, Mary V. Gammon and Ruby V. Brunious. Visitation on Monday, May 25, 2015 at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70809, from 9:00 a.m. until funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. conducted by his nephew, Most Reverend Shelton J. Fabre, Bishop of Houma-Thibodaux. Recitation of Rosary at 10:00 a.m. Interment in St. George Cemetery. Rabenhorst Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
