Ann Estes Blessey

Jackson, Mississippi - Ann Estes Blessey, 68, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 22, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, LA on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. and a private interment to follow the services. Ann grew up in Metairie, where she graduated from St. Martin's Episcopal School in 1962. After high school, Ann attended Louisiana State University, graduating in 1966. At LSU, Ann was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. Before starting a family, Ann worked at LL&E as an administrative assistant. In addition to having a talent for drawing, Ann enjoyed tennis, sailing, golf and other athletic activities. Ann lived in the New Orleans area for most of her life, until she moved to Jackson, Mississippi in recent years. Ann is survived by her two daughters, Laney Watkins (Jason) of Jackson, Mississippi, and Laura Todd (Clark) of Mandeville, Louisiana; five grandchildren, Hudson Bataille and Jackson Bataille, of Jackson, Mississippi, and Cooper, Caroline and Cate Todd of Mandeville, Louisiana; and two step-grandchildren, Web and Douglas Watkins of Jackson, Mississippi.
