Catherine W. Ferachi

A generous, kind and loving woman who adored and cherished her family and friends, she passed peacefully away Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 75, and a resident and native of Plaquemine who retired from Gulf Inland Marine as a bookkeeper. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, on Wednesday, Jan. 16, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Thursday, Jan. 17, from 8 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Cleo J. Milano, celebrant. Entombment in Grace Memorial Park. Survived by a daughter, Laurie Ann Ourso and husband Rodney; a son, Frank Luke Ferachi Jr. and wife Kristine Brossett; sister, Ethel Bueche and husband Nolan Jr.; a brother, Randolph Willis and wife Catherine; a grandchild, Shea Michael Ourso, whom she dearly loved and was the pride and joy of her life; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Frank L. Ferachi Sr., who passed away on Jan. 6, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Randolph and Josie Robertson Willis; brother, Earl ""Red"" Willis; sister-in-law, Joy Willis; and best friend, Gloria ""Pim"" Clebert. Pallbearers will be Luke Ferachi, Shea Ourso, Holden Tassin, Brian Willis, Nolan Bueche III and Donnie Bujol. Honorary Pallbearers are Rodney Ourso, Randolph Willis, Nolan Bueche Jr., Bubba Willis & Eric Willis. Laurie and Luke wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to Denny Bujol whom Catherine considered to be her second daughter, Shawn Tassin, Linda Chustz, Sherry & Boo Gullotta, Myrna Hargrove & Carolyn Marchand for always being there for our mother.
