A native and resident of Port Allen, Charles Edward Johnson was relieved of his final duty on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Tulane Medical Center, New Orleans. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force
and employed at Hollywood Casino. Visiting at Hall's Celebration Center, 9348 Scenic Highway, on Wednesday, Nov. 28, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visitation continues at New Mount Olive Baptist Church, 1187 Rosedale Road, Port Allen, on Thursday, Nov. 29, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Michael Byrd. Interment in Louisiana National Cemetery, Zachary. Survived by his wife, Evangeline Johnson, Atlanta; mother, Jeanetta Johnson, Port Allen; four sisters, Agnest Johnson, Baton Rouge, Barbara (Wayne) Hunter, North Carolina, Carolyn Johnson, Port Allen, and Eathel (Khalil) Ali, Washington, D.C.; three brothers, Donald Ray (Jackie) Johnson, Houston, Terry (Linda) Johnson and the Rev. Kenneth Johnson, all of Baton Rouge; a goddaughter and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his father, David Johnson Sr.; sister, Jeanetta J. Long; brothers, David Johnson Jr. and Leroy Johnson; and maternal and paternal grandparents. Arrangements entrusted to Hall Davis & Son Funeral Services.
