Clarence "Jake" Jacobs

A retired West Baton Rouge Parish school system maintenance worker, he died at 7:25 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. He was 72, a native of West Baton Rouge Parish and a resident of Port Allen. Visiting at Hall's of Port Allen on Friday, Jan. 18, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visiting at New Sunrise Baptist Church on Saturday, Jan. 19, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Dr. Phillip Joseph. Interment in Lady of Knights Cemetery, Port Allen. Survived by his spouse, Josephine Jacobs; daughters, Velvetta Brown and Jacqueline Woodruff; sons, Kirklon Jacobs and Terry Johnson; brother, Lionel (Tina) Jacobs; sisters, Margaret (James) Judson and Myrtle Collins, both of Baton Rouge, Joan Kador, Addis, Diane (Robert) Henderson and Lillie Mae (Herman) Washington, both of Port Allen; an aunt, Wilemina Williams, Baton Rouge; mother-in-law, Mary Henderson, Port Allen; grandchildren, Tyra Brown and Tyrin Brown; special niece, Shawanna Beasley; and great-niece, Diamond Collins.
