Clay Joseph 'Jay' 'C.J.' Jarreau Jr.

A native of Rosedale, LA and a resident of Greenwell Springs, LA, he passed away at St. Joseph Hospice Carpenter House on Monday, April 28, 2014, at the age of 79. Visitation will be at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Rd. from 10:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm on Thursday, May 1, 2014. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home. He is survived by daughter, Kahne Jarreau of Greenwell Springs, LA; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Henry Barousse of Baton Rouge, LA and Kristi and Glenn Marbury of Prairieville, LA.; sister, Barbara Delaune; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Homer Martin; brothers-in-law, Raymond Louque and Steve Schexnaildre. He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Schexnaildre Jarreau; father and mother, Clay Jarreau, Sr. and Melanie Sicard Jarreau; sisters, Eve Kelly, Juanita Hutchinson, Ethel Kelly and Dorothy Louque. Pallbearers will be his nephews. Before retirement, his occupation was land surveying, working with Barnard and Thomas Engineering for many years. He loved to fish, (earned the nickname, "Sac-a-lait King"), and his favorite fishing partner was his brother-in-law, Raymond Louque. He love, love, loved his little dog, Muffin, and special thanks goes to Risha Dunn and family for adopting her into their loving home. We wish to thank the wonderful staff at The Haven assisted living for their great care and understanding. We give special thanks to dad's hospice nurse, Penny, who was just the most amazing, compassionate, dedicated nurse ever. We are eternally grateful to Jenn's Angel's sitters, Karen and Juliet, for taking such special, loving care of our dad.
