Clyde Hanna, a resident of Pride, LA, died on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Lane Regional Medical Center. He was a former employee of the City Parish of Baton Rouge, where he worked for over 30 years. Visitation will be at Sandy Creek Baptist Church on Sunday, June 16, 2013 from 5pm until 9pm and then on Monday, June 17, 2013 from 9am until services at 11am, conducted by Rev. Jerry Potts. Burial will be at Sandy Creek Cemetery. He is survived by two daughters: Peggy Foster and her husband C.L. of Greensburg, LA; Rainey Brady and her husband Jimmie of Pride, LA; one son, Pete Hanna and his wife Terry of Greenwell Springs, LA; five sisters, Gloria Ballard of Central; Syble Ashford of Pride; Bobbie Baker and her husband Bill of Baton Rouge; Gaye Major of Baton Rouge; and Joanne Coniglio and her husband Sidney of Greenwell Springs, LA; six grandchildren: Brian Foster, Bobby Foster, Kristy Hanna, Shelly Carter, Kim Hanna, and Zachary Guimbellot; and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Gilchrist Hanna, brother Max Hanna, sister Stella Brown, and grandson Jeremy LeJeune. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Birdie Hanna. Pallbearers will be Brian Foster, Bobby Foster, Zachary Guimbellot, Jacob Hanna, Wayne Hanna, and Rip Hanna. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Gilchrist, Keith Pierce, and Kenny Ashford. He was a veteran of the Korean War
, where he served in the US Navy. He was a member of the Sandy Creek Baptist Church and was well-known for the delicious watermelons he grew and sold each summer.
