Delea "Lee" Edward Steele, age 77, of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away Thursday, Mar. 21, 2013, at Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary, LA. Lee served and defended his country through the United States Army as well as a police officer
for the City of Baton Rouge for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Lee also loved to be outdoors with hunting, fishing and especially his garden. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Visitation will be at Seale Funeral Home, Central, LA on Saturday, Mar. 23, from noon until service at 2 p.m., officiated by Rev. Dennis McAnally. Burial will follow in Zoar Baptist Cemetery, Central. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and sons-in-law. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Rose Steele; daughters, Karen Nicholson and husband, James, and Darla Stelle Ferguson and husband, Tim; son, Eddie Steele and wife, Kim; grandchildren, Dustin Andre, Jacob Steele, Broc Andre, Blake Steele and Nick DeGregorio; great-grandchildren, Jayden Steele and Kollyns Andre; sisters, Patsy LeBlanc and husband, Emerson, and Ann Smith; brother, Jerry Steele and wife, Jane; as well as many other relatives and friends.
