George Maney, a retired Truck Driver for Glazer Wholesales Liquor Company for 25 years, entered into eternal rest on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Tulane Medical Center Hospital. He was 83 years old. He was a native of Convent, Louisiana and a resident of New Orleans for many years. He was a United States Army
Veteran, where he received an honorable discharge in 1953. George enjoyed watching the Saints football games with his family and will be deeply and sadly missed by those who loved him dearly. Beloved son of the late Paul, Sr. and Alice Maney. Devoted husband of his loving and caring wife, Verina Maney. Loving father of Stephanie Maney, Rene' Maney (Ashleigh) and the late Janet Maney Stewart (Raymond), Brother of Dorothy Maney and the late Paul Maney Jr. (Marie), John Maney Sr. (Gloria) and Melvin Maney (Elsie), Eunice LaBoue (Johnny), Eulla Schmidt (Sidney, Sr.) and Thelma Carlos (Manuel). Grandfather of Nicole (Quinton) and Daniela Stewart, Hannah and Marlo Maney. Great-grandfather of Nyla, Quinton and Quincy Ross, Christian and Daleon Stewart. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1025 Napoleon Ave., on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation at 10:00 a.m. (until funeral time).
