Bond, James Edward "Edd", born January 4, 1920, in Richton, Mississippi, passed away at his home in Denham Springs, surrounded by family on Sunday, April 28, 2013. He was retired from Greyhound Bus Lines, having worked as a ticket agent and supervisor for over 40 years. After retirement, he spent many happy days working at his sister's grocery store, Penny's Sunflower, in Clinton, Louisiana. He was a United States Navy
veteran, having served his country during World War II
. He was treasurer and elder of the Baker Christian Church. He was an avid gardener. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Wallace Bond, Five daughters and sons in law, Sandra and Sammy Territo, Paula and Prentiss Stevens, Elizabeth and Kenny Downey, Theresa and Eric Grimmer, and Connie Bond and a son, Robert Bond. He is survived also by eleven grandchildren, Jodie Melancon, Bubba Territo, Ashley Grady, Ronn Self, Jennifer Stevens, Benjamin Stevens, Jared Stevens, Amy Pulliam, Matthew Walsh, Eric Grimmer II and Audie James Grimmer and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Onnie Holman Bond, a brother, Henry R. Bond, Jr., and three sisters, Barronece Pendarvis, Mabel Whitt and Dorris Gee. Visiting will be held at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Clinton on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 9:00 am until service time at 11:00 am conducted by Rev. Todd Whirley. Interment will be at Masonic Cemetery, Clinton, LA. Pallbearers will be Sammy Territo, Prentiss Stevens, Eric Grimmer, Russ de Blieux, Matthew Walsh and Mike Souter. Honorary pallbearers are Kenny Downey and Eric Grimmer II. The family wishes to thank Dr. Stephen Speeg, Dr. Tom Meek and Hospice Compassus for their compassion and care.
