She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. A retired secretary for Eatel and a resident of Gonzales, she died at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, in Baton Rouge. She was 73 and a native of New Orleans. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville, on Monday, Feb. 2, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at the funeral home on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Ascension Catholic Church, Donaldsonville, at 11 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Phil Spano. Interment in the church cemetery. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Kenneth Joe Bonin, St. Amant; son and daughter-in-law, Malcolm and Rosalie Alonzo, Los Angeles; brother, Charles Brown, Baton Rouge; and three granddaughters, Rachel and Grace Alonzo and Christy Bonin Maher. Preceded in death by her husband, Ulysses J. Alonzo; parents, Fernand and Marine Bergeron Goudeau; and two sisters, Marjorie Guagliardo and Mary Welker. She was a member of St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church and a former volunteer at St. Elizabeth Auxiliary and Senior Friends.
