Leigh Ann Alexander

Devoted wife, loving mother, daughter and sister, Leigh Ann Alexander, 39, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Born in Lafayette and a resident of St. Amant, she was a business administrator at Eatel. Visitation was at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Wednesday, June 17, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Amant, on Thursday, June 18, from 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Jon Koehler. Entombment will be in Holy Rosary Mausoleum. She is survived by her loving husband of 16 years, Jeff P. Alexander; father and mother, Donald and Nancy Polzin Alexander; daughter, Britt Leigh Alexander; son, Grant Jeffrey Alexander; brother, Todd Patrick Alexander; maternal grandfather, James E. "Jim" Polzin; mother-in-law, Janet B. Alexander; aunts and uncles, Jaimee and Jeffrey Aldridge, Patti and Chip Roughton, and Dexa and Tom Morgan; cousins, Julie and Jessica Aldridge, Ryan Roughton, and Jessica Haley; sisters-in-law, Jailea A. Brock and husband Stephen Brock, Judy A. Purpera and husband Vince Purpera; nieces and nephews, Sara Purpera, Stevie Brock, Hunter Brock and Dale Purpera; and her dearest friend, Danielle. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Paul J. Alexander; maternal grandmother, Mary "George" Polzin; aunt, Vicki Lynn Polzin; and paternal grand-parents, Jesse P. Alexander and Anne Strait Alexander. Pallbearers will be Chip Roughton, Jeffrey Aldridge, Stephen Brock, Mike Lee, Bubba Villar and Nelson Morgan. Honorary pallbearers are Ryan Roughton, Roman Belleu, Robert Burgess and Vince Purpera. Leigh Ann enjoyed gardening, shopping and going to the beach. Please visit our memorial at www.mem.com.
