Muriel E. Vicknair Aime passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at her daughter's home. She was 84 and a lifelong resident of Head of Island. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Dian and Richard Simoneaux, Head of Island, and Patty and Perry Watts, French Settlement; four sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Aime, Gary and Anna Aime, Donald and Susan Aime, Ricky and Sherri Aime, and Ruth Aime, all of Head of Island; 23 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Junius P. "Sone" Aime; two sons, Jimmy Aime Sr. and Percy Aime; daughter, Annette Aime; infant grandson; granddaughter, Sebreana Aime; parents, Simpson Gabriel Vicknair and Mary Sedonia LeBourgeois Vicknair; brothers, Earl Joseph Vicknair, Herbert Gabriel Vicknair and Alvin "Buck" Claude Vicknair; and sisters, Josephine Wallace, Verna Fay "Pap" Millet and Dorothy "Dot" Tanner. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jimmy Aime Jr., Eric and Richie Simoneaux, Donald Aime Jr., Ricky Aime Jr. and Bryce Watts. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, 13533 Airline Highway, Gonzales, on Monday, Oct. 1, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visiting at St. Joseph Catholic Church, French Settlement, on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Head of Island.
