Ruby Mae Anderson-Lewis

A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Ruby Mae Anderson-Lewis passed away at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was a native and resident of Baton Rouge. Visitation at Wilson-Wooddale Funeral Home on Thursday, July 10, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Burtell Davis. Interment in Southern Memorial Gardens. Survived by five daughters and four sons-in-law, Karen and Carl Thomas and Sheryl and Albert Almonte, all of Baton Rouge, Gwendolyn and Alcina Rodgers, New Orleans, Shyvonne and Ken Hill, Atlanta, and Lisa Thomas, Baton Rouge; daughter-in-law, Edna Lewis; five sisters and a brother-in-law, Gloria Francois, Bertha Woodard and Delarie Sterling, all of Baton Rouge, Audrey and Willie Caston, Atlanta, and Ramona Turner, New Orleans; a brother, Elijah Woodard, of Baton Rouge; aunts, Alberta Watson, Olevia Anderson, Gloria Dean Bradford, Jeanetta Sheafer and Evalena Anderson, all of Baton Rouge; an uncle, John Shalahorn, Baton Rouge; eight grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, George Anderson and Juanita Woodard Anderson; son, John Daniel Lewis Jr.; and brother, Ivory Aaron Davis.
