Steven Joseph "Steve" Berthelot

A retired commercial fisherman and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was entrusted to God's loving care on Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, in Donaldsonville. He was a lifelong resident of Pierre Part. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Pierre Part, on Thursday, Oct. 25, from 8 a.m. until procession at 12:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Pierre Part, at 1 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Clarence Waguespack, celebrant. Entombment in the church cemetery. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Delores Leonard Berthelot, Pierre Part; three daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and Pat Martinez, Baton Rouge, Margaret and Philip Crochet, Port Hudson, and Helena and Stephen Michell, Donaldsonville; 11 grandchildren, Mandy, Kristen, Mikylyn, Daina, Tricia, Nicole, Patrick, Christian, Ashley, Lindsay and Tiffany; and 11 great-grandchildren, Cameron, Jacob, Matthew, Victoria, Eric, Christian, Reid, Nicholas, Kaileigh, Emma and Brayden. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Mabile; parents, Ullysses and Adia Blanchard Berthelot; three brothers, Cleveland, Gleason and Risley Berthelot; and two sisters, Adeline B. Breaux and Addie B. Hue. Mr. Steve was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
