Carleen Esther Varnado "Toddy" Brumfield

A precious and loving wife, mother and Grammy, "Toddy" passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at the age of 87. She was born April 12, 1925 in Kentwood, Louisiana. "Toddy" was a faithful member of Istrouma Baptist Church serving in the "Bed Babies" nursery for many years. She was active in WMU, Keenagers and visitation on Thursdays. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East chapel, 11000 Florida Boulevard, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, and from 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, until religious services at the funeral home at 11 a.m. conducted by Dr. Ferris Jordan, Brother Ron Lambe and Dr. Jeff Ginn. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. "Toddy" was preceded in death by her husband, A. C. Brumfield, Jr.; her father, T. C. Varnado; and her mother, Irene Mae Faulknor Varnado. She was also preceded in death by 6 siblings, Viola "Poolie" Hill, Sheldon Varnado, Mildred Miscar, Landon Varnado, Leonard Varnado and Harold Varnado. She is survived by 2 sisters, Norma Fussell and Alta Mae Daniel; and one brother, Cart Varnado, all of Baton Rouge; three daughters, Glenda Vidrine, Lynette Wilkinson and husband Bruce and Paula Roybal and husband Kerry, all of Baton Rouge; 6 grandchildren, Kyle Vidrine and wife Andrea, Ashton Vidrine, Shane Wilkinson and wife Melissa and Chad Wilkinson, all of Baton Rouge, Kole Roybal of Texas and Kade Roybal of New York; 7 great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Parker Vidrine, Bayli, Brayden and Brooklynn Wilkinson and Grant and Claire Wilkinson. Pallbearers will be George Vidrine, Kyle Vidrine, Ashton Vidrine, Bruce Wilkinson, Shane Wilkinson, Chad Wilkinson, Kerry Roybal and Kole Roybal. Love and appreciation to JoAnn Cobb, dear family friend and "fourth daughter", loving friends from IBC, kind and attentive nurses Brandie LeDuff and Sherrelle Beardon of St. Joseph's Hospice, caring sitters, Sally Bruce, Traci Roberts, Gloria Coslan, Carol Hodges and Jackie Moore and sweet neighbors, Tom and Helen Daniel.
