CW Diffey

A resident of Port Allen and a retired self-employed truck owner who leased to Cargill for 25 years, he died at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2009, at The Guest House in Baton Rouge. He was 87, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a native of Texas. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home in Port Allen on Sunday, April 19, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting continues at First Baptist Church in Port Allen on Monday, April 20, from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Craig Nelms. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Thelma Cambre Diffey, of Port Allen; four sons, Charles Diffey and wife Wanda, and Steven Diffey, all of Port Allen, Andy Diffey, of Thibodaux, and Roger Hodgeson and wife Judy, of Gonzales; a brother, Glen Diffey and wife Betty, of Lufkin, Texas; eight grandchildren, Adrienne, Tracy, Amber and Michelle Diffey, David Hodgeson and wife Rima, Dr. Michael Hodgeson and wife Angie, Jill Rodriguez and husband George, and Kristi Fontenot and husband Derek; and eight great-grandchildren, Linna, Joshua, Sydney, Raquel, Sarah, Amanda, Christopher and Benjamin. Pallbearers will be Dr. Michael Hodgeson, David Hodgeson, Ben Hodgeson, Derek Fontenot, George Rodriguez and Scott Vercher. Honorary pallbearers are Joshua and Christopher Hodgeson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Ann Jackson Diffey; and parents, William and Bessie Hall Diffey. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in Monroe.
