I live in Prairieville and heard about the call for flag barers to line the final journey route too late. I am very sorry that I was not able to see this fine soldier finally laid to rest with the honors he deserves. God bless him and all of his family. There is no greater love than for a man to lay down his life for his fellow man. Our soldiers heed this call for no fame and glory of their own, but for the love of their fellow man. May you rest in the peace of Christ CPL Fontenot. I salute you.

In a shady meadow green
Are the Souls of all dead troopers camped,
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
