Rita Mixon Obituary

A native of Donaldsonville, she was born Jan. 17, 1926, and died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, after a lengthy illness. Preceded in death by her husband, William Emment Mixon; parents, John Millien Sr. and Mildred Gregoire Sparacino; brothers, Henry and Patrick; and sisters, Mary Palermo and Angela Alleman. She is survived by brothers, John Jr. and Raymond; and sisters, Onita Falcon and Marion Leblanc. She had three children, Linda Mixon and husband LeRoy Falcon, Gary Mixon and wife Charlotte, and Bobby Mixon; three grandsons, LeRoy Jr. and wife Patricia, Matt and wife Lara, and Scott and wife Sheri; and seven great-grandchildren Kate, Lane, Chloe, Mary, Gavin, Gracyn and Presley Falcon. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home, Donaldsonville, on Monday, Aug. 15, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church, Donaldsonville, at noon. Interment in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be LeRoy Jr., Matt and Scott Falcon, L.J. Tullier, Sidney Palermo, and Sydney Goetz. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center or The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice, both of Baton Rouge, or a charity of your choice.
