To my Uncle and Godfather,
Your passing was a sad day but your life was and inspiration for all who came in to contact with you. Now you are in the arms of the angels and heaven will be forever brighter with your presence.

I grew up in the shadows of the Lauricella compound in Harahan. In fact, Hank and his brother John built our family home. My father and John fought continuously over the punch list but Hank, as he so often did in life, served as the peacemaker. Hank was the consummate gentleman who treated everyone with courtesy and respect. Renowned for his athletic skills, to me he was an even better businessman and civic activist. His legacy of contribution to Jefferson Parish and the state of Louisiana will always be remembered. The passing of such an individual is a sad day for all of us and I offer my heartfelt sympathy to his family who will miss him the most.

To the Lauricella family:
I was very saddened to hear of Mr. Hank's passing. Mr. Hank was the epitome of a true gentleman. With all of his many accomplishments in life, he remained modest and humble. I will always consider my time working for Mr. Hank to be both an honor and a privilege. My thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. Betty and his wonderful family. God bless you and rest in peace, Mr. Hank.

My thoughts and prayers are with all the Lauricellas right now. I went to Ecole Classique with Hank and Louis and Lisa was my classmate and a dear friend back then. My love to you and Betty especially who was so blessed to have a good man by her side for so many years and was so devoted to his family and friends. You couldn't ask for more. Mr. Hank was a dear friend of the Schneckenburger families in Harahan and Kenner. His name always brought laughter to my Aunt Lois, my late Uncle Huey and my Dad "Skeets" Schneckenburger. At my Dad's funeral, he chatted with my son in law, an avid fan of the Volunteers, at length about Tennessee football. On behalf of my entire family, our prayers and thoughts are extended to your family. Jackie Schneckenburger Helmstetter

To Hank, his wife and his family, my prayers are with you daily. As a graduate of Holy Cross 47', I knew Hank, and followed his many accomplishments. With all his deserved accolades, he also carried the tradition of a Holy Cross man. Rest in Peace, and God Bless.

To my dear neighbors, the Lauricella's:
I will miss seeing Hank at church and chatting with this wonderful man about various topics. He was a gentle and caring neighbor and will be missed beyond what words could possibly describe. He was a public servant whose integrity was beyond reproach and he lived his life in that manner, too. We need more Hanks.
To his family, please find solace that Hank made significant contributions to his community and St. Rita's Parish. Very few people have left or will leave legacies like Hank has left us. He has touch so many lives and though he's gone to a truly better place, we will all miss him, but remember and enjoy the times we had him.
God Bless and keep you, Hank.

Hank Lauricella was authentic and genuine --and completely devoted to his family and his community. His was a life so very well-lived. He touched many lives and so many admired him greatly. I have for so many years, and shall always be grateful for his abiding friendship. Betty and Louis, Peggy and I offer our sympathies and will remember your family in our prayers.

Dear Betty and family,
It was with great sadness that I learned of Hank's death. Sicoo and I send you our condolences and our prayers. Hank was indeed a kind man. When I first went to the Louisiana Senate in 1972 Hank closed ranks, introduced me to all the staff, and was so very helpful. He continued to be as true team player in our Jefferson Parish legislative delegation. He will be missed.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
