A native of Lakeland and resident of West Baton Rouge passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. He was 89 and a US Navy Veteran WWII. Visiting at Hall's of Port Allen on Sunday, May 18 from 1-5 p.m. and at St. Alma Baptist Church on Monday, May 19 from 9 am until service at 11 am, conducted by Rev. Mary Moss. Interment in Louisiana National Cemetery, Zachary. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Mae Collins; daughters, Julia Hebert, Rose Jones, Mary Collins, Barbara (James) Stirgus, Bertha Albert, Joyce (Randy) Fields, Ida (Gilbert) Derozan, Brenda (Wilfred) Jarvis and Letitia Collins (David); sons, Albert (Doris) Collins, Jr. and Harry Collins; 27 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
