A native of Washington, La. and resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 6 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 at The Carpenter House. He was 97, a United States Air Force Veteran. He was retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles. Visiting at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, May 10, 2013 from 10 a.m. until service at 12 noon conducted by Rev. Fred Jeff Smith. Interment in Roselawn Cemetery. Survivors include his son, Alvin Ray (Charlene) Caston of Lake Charles; grandchildren, McCaloph (LeAnne) Caston of Sedalia, Missouri and Amelia Caston of Lake Charles; great grandchildren, Caleb Caston and Kailey Charles; and devoted goddaughter, Jerrie M. Booker. Preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Caston; mother, Patsy Duffin Pugh; father, Hillard Caston; four brothers and two sisters. Services entrusted to Hall Davis & Son.
