Alvis M. "Al" Washington departed this life June 24, 2014, in Douala, Republic of Cameroon (Africa). He was 57, a native of Waverly, La., and a resident of Thibodaux, La. He was an employee with Halliburton Company for 29 years, currently serving as an Operations Leader and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Visiting at Beacon Light, 4325 West Park Ave., Gray, La., from 9:00 a.m. to Religious Services at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014. Burial in Southern Memorial Gardens in Baton Rouge, La. Survived by his wife, Debra Fisher Washington of Thibodaux, La.; 2 sons and spouse, Alvis Washington Jr. of New York and Willie C.J. and Saminthia Washington of The Woodlands, Texas. 1 daughter, Damaris Washington of Thibodaux, La.; 2 grandchildren, Bailee and Blake Washington of The Woodlands, TX; 6 brothers and spouses, Thomas Arthur and Lula Washington of Houston, TX, Jimmy Earl and Janett Washington of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jo Willie and Yvonne Washington of San Antonio, TX, John R. Washington of Liberty Township, Ohio, Kelvin Wayne Washington of Fairfield, Ohio, and Delbert Washington of Shreveport, La.; 2 sisters, Glenda Faye Washington and Florence Jones of Dallas, TX; a special uncle and aunt, A.B and Thelma Cornist. Also survived by a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by parents, John and Mary Washington and a sister, Ruby Hill.
