Charles "Charlie " Dwight Tanksley, 67 years old of Walker, Louisiana, born October 14, 1945 passed away, Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Methodist Memorial Hospital, Houston, Texas. He was co-owner of Tanksley Automotive, located in Central, Louisiana. He will be remembered for his passion of high performance automobiles, drag racing and animals. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne "Screaming Eagles" Division. He was a Vietnam Veteran honored with two purple hearts. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend that will be dearly missed by everyone that knew and loved him. Survived by his wife, Barbara Pearson Bennett Tanksley, four sons, Joseph "Joey" and wife Bernadette, Jamie, Jeremy, Jonathan, one step-son, Bradley Bennett and two grandchildren, Joshua and Kayden Tanksley, two sisters, Johnnie Faye Womack and Frances Burke. He is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Lillie Belle Tanksley, of Mississippi, and two children, Tommy and Renee Tanksley. Funeral arrangements will be at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Tuesday, March 5th from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Wednesday at 11:00am. Funeral home services will be held in the funeral home Chapel service at 1:30pm. Burial will follow in Louisiana National Cemetery, located in Zachary, LA.
