Grover Warren "Bo" Garrison embraced heaven following his battle with cancer Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013. He was born in Baton Rouge and was a lifelong resident of Denham Springs. Visitation will be at First United Methodist Church, Denham Springs on Thursday, Dec. 5, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will resume at Friday, Dec. 6, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., officiated by Rev. Bob Deich. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park, Denham Springs. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann; son, Kelly Garrison; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Gordon Devall; grandchildren, Vincent Warren Devall and Stacey Katherine Devall; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret Ann and Edward Ivy; brother and sister-in-law, Jesse and Margaret Garrison. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Rena Ale'man Garrison. A graduate of Denham Springs High School, he attended LSU at Baton Rouge, Northwestern University of Illinois and was a graduate in Criminal Justice at Southeastern Louisiana University. Bo was a radar operator in the United States Navy. In 1961, he became a Louisiana State Trooper, rising through the ranks to Colonel, a gubernatorial appointed position. In that position, he served four consecutive terms, spanning the years of 1972-1984. Following his State Police retirement, he was appointed by President George W. Bush as United States Marshal, serving 3 years. He was actively involved and served in many roles of the First United Methodist Church of Denham Springs. Graveside honor services and pallbearers will be the Louisiana State Police Honor Guard.
