Jack passed away from pneumonia on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 5:04am at Lane Regional Medical Center. He was 73, a resident of Baker, and a native of Pleasant Hill. He delivered papers for the Advocate, worked for Butler's Maintenance LLC, and was former owner of Butler's Grocery in Galvez. He was a proud United States Air Force veteran of the Vietnam Era. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Sunday, April 13, from 5-8pm, and on Monday, April 14, from 10am until religious services in the chapel at 11am. Interment with military honors to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Survived by a sister, Barbara Fay Nickens; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth L. and Brenda Butler; five nieces and six nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, L.J. Butler; mother, Evelyn Dykes Butler; brothers, L. Glenn Butler and Dewayne Butler; and brother-in-law, Cecil Nickens. Pallbearers will be his nephews.
