A resident of Denham Springs passed away at his home on Friday, January 10, 2014 surrounded by family and friends at the age of 75. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and retired from Ethyl Corporation in Baton Rouge with 19 years of service. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs on Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. Visitation will resume at 10:00am on Monday. Religious services will be conducted by Pastor "T", Terry Lobell at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife of over fifty four years, Leola "Lee" Stephenson Tarter, two sons, Denver Todd Tarter and Ron Russell Tarter and wife Eleanor Murrell Tarter, two grandchildren, Denver Talon Tarter and Jordon Taylor Tarter and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Melton and Macie Chandler Tarter, six brothers, Reginal Tarter, Cecil Tarter, Durward Tarter, Melvin Tarter, Denver E. Tarter and James Norris Tarter, six sisters, Lois Tarter Walker, Johnnie Tarter Aymond, Yvonne Tarter, Anne Tarter Caspari, Elaine Hammonds Jordan and Winifred Hammonds Sweeny.
