Dr. John Milton Boutte', son of Mary Alice Boutte' and the late Joseph RD Boutte' was born on July 10, 1953 in Opelousas, LA and passed away peacefully on May 14, 2014 in Slidell, LA. Raised in Lake Charles, LA, he graduated from Washington High School in 1971. He served in the United States Navy for four years. In 1976, he married Gwendolyn Aiken, from Moncks Corner, SC and had two children: Jonovan and Alycia. He graduated from Tulane in 1979 with a BS in Psychology. He received a MS in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern State in Natchitoches, LA. He received his PhD in Clinical Psychology at Purdue in Lafayette, IN. He completed an internship at Duke, and post-doctoral work at Harvard. John was an Assistant Professor at Northwestern State University and was appointed Department Chair in 1991. In 1995 he opened his private practice, Medical Psychology Consulting, in Slidell. He worked in private practice for 19 years. He was a member of St. Luke the Evangelist Church. He is survived by: his children, Jonovan (Leslie) and Alycia; his mother, Mary Alice; 3 sisters, Cynthia, Cathy (Charles) Cole; Pamela (Hershel) Watson; 5 Brothers, Joseph Pete (Colleen), Patrick Jerome; Dr. James Noble (Lisa); Marcus (Denise), and Bryan (Jennifer). Preceded in death by his father Joseph, and brother Timothy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St Luke the Evangelist Church, 910 Cross Gates Blvd., Slidell, LA, on Wednesday, May 21st, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell, LA. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM.
