Julie was born on July 29, 1942 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She graduated from Baton Rouge High School and Louisiana State University with a degree in fine arts. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, American Society of Interior Designers, and St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas. Early in her professional career, she worked for Louisiana State University Medical School as a medical artist for over ten years and later became licensed as a medical illustrator. She was self-employed as a freelance medical artist in Baton Rouge. She moved to Houston, Texas and worked as a licensed interior design professional for over thirty years. Her refined aesthetic was well-respected in the design industry from New Orleans to Houston, and her work has been featured in multiple publications, including Brunschwig & Fils: Up Close. Julie devoted herself to her family, always making herself available to counsel them or to laugh with them-often both at once. Her family and her French Poodle, Sybil, will miss her company dearly.
